AI Dimension for Adobe Illustrator
A modern CEP panel (extension) for Adobe Illustrator designed to automatically draw technical dimensions, bounds, and leader lines for vector objects.
This script was created as a spiritual successor and complete rewrite of the popular old script "AI measurment". The goal was to preserve the familiar workflow while ensuring compatibility with modern versions of Adobe Illustrator and adding several new features.
Main Features and Capabilities
Search and select any installed system or Adobe font directly from the panel with instant fuzzy search, cached background loading, and a list of recently used fonts.
Dedicated buttons for measuring the horizontal gap between two objects (with callouts placed on the Top or Bottom) and vertical gap (placed on the Left or Right).
Measure radius (R) and diameter (Ø) in all four directions (Top-Left ↖, Top-Right ↗, Bottom-Left ↙, Bottom-Right ↘) with dedicated horizontal landing shelves.
Full support for blueprint and drawing scales (e.g. 1:10, 1:50, 1:100, 10:1, or numeric multipliers) and units (mm, cm, in, pt, px) with automatic math adaptation and optional unit suffix.
Continuous dimension lines and proper formatting compliant with ГОСТ / ISO standards when dimensions are narrow. CMYK color swatches, 3 customizable preset slots (min / med / max), smart layer routing, and one-click dimension clearing.

- Run the
enable_player_debug_mode.regfile included in the archive to allow unsigned CEP extensions. - Extract the
AI Dimensionfolder to:%APPDATA%\Adobe\CEP\extensions\ - Restart Adobe Illustrator. The panel will be available under Window > Extensions > AI Dimension.
